Job Description


The Analyst I – Financial Systems is to have an understanding of Application Support needs including but not limited to:  database structure, server architecture, network infrastructure, active directory security and application support for the Business Associates.  This position will provide technical support for a variety of Business Applications.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve issues within the various applications supported.
  • Assist in testing and upgrading existing applications.
  • Assist in implementing new phases of existing applications.
  • Train new business users on use of application(s) as needed.
  • Train peers on technical aspects of application(s) as needed.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and application documentation, as needed.
  • Develop best practices and tools for application execution and support.
  • Other duties will vary as job responsibilities evolve.
  • Responsible for effective configuration of an application, preferable back-office financial applications to meet business needs.
  • Interpret and document business requirements and translate into system configurations.
  • Effectively interact with business and technical staff at all organizational levels.
  • Provide customer support and technical direction for problem resolution, modification of existing system setup and introduction of new functionality.
  • Develop and execute system testing.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Certification preferred
  • Experience in Application Infrastructure and Support.
  • Technically competent with various software programs.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and how applications interact with databases.
  • Experience reporting in JD Edwards
  • Basic knowledge required of Windows 2003 and 2010 server interaction with applications – including Web applications (IIS knowledge preferred)
  • Basic knowledge required of Network infrastructure, Active Directory and Application servers and structure interact within a large network.
  • Ability to understand batch files and SQL programming.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into various application-related issues.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Customer service skills an asset.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
