Summary of Position Requirements

Manage the day-to-day financial reporting functions of the division, including supporting corporate and divisional reporting requirements. Manage day to day accounts payables administration, lead budgeting, forecasting and projection processes.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor and manage individuals and team to ensure top performance of all team members in achieving desired results while finding efficient and effective solutions that create overall organizational value.
  • Manage forecasting process accurately and timely in conjunction with division and regional deadlines
  • Possess complete understanding of the Accounting Policy Manual and ensure that policies are followed.
  • Responsible for monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet review with variance analysis by individual account.
  • Monitor sales activity through weekly traffic, sales, starts and closings report.
  • Provide weekly and monthly statistical/financial reporting to Division Management.
  • Ensure that associates follow company policies and procedures.
  • Interview and recruit Accounting team.
  • Responsible for, along with the Controller, providing associates with ongoing, timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing associates to their full potential.
  • Develop performance improvement plans if an associate's performance is not meeting expectations.
  • Organize and prioritize work activities while utilizing efficient time management skills in meeting deadlines and staying on schedule.
  • Interact and provide support as needed to internal and external auditors.
  • Attention to detail is important as well as a big picture focus on the overall business.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Requires excellent communication, analytical and writing skills.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by V.P. of Finance, Division President or Corporate/Region.



 Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field required or combination of equivalent education and experience; advanced degree or CPA preferred.
  • Three to five years minimum related accounting and financial experience including two to three years in homebuilding.
  • Advanced computer skills needed to include Microsoft Word and Excel, JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase/Smart View.
