Overview

The Chief Information Officer, or CIO, serves as Lennar’s lead Information Technology (IT) decision maker and is responsible for strategy, design, implementation, and utilization of technology and data. The CIO analyzes how these technologies create business value while improving existing business processes, efficiencies, organization capabilities, and integrates systems to realize those benefits and/or improvements. The CIO is required to remain innovative in design and stay informed of all industry trends. The CIO must be able to convey technical concepts to Lennar’s business community in a manner understood by non-technical Associates. Travel should be anticipated and will vary dependent upon business requirements.



Responsibilities

  • The CIO will manage 5 direct reports on the IT leadership team; total headcount in the IT organization is approximately 200
  • Analyze the technology we currently use for design, development and administration for efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders and the executive leadership team to measure system and resource use and allocation
  • Design a wide area connectivity network infrastructure with an emphasis on filling remote access needs
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers for installing new technology and training employees on its use
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses for every change in our IT workflow
  • Suggest hardware and software upgrades as appropriate to improve operations, consistency and budgetary success
  • Responsible to lead rapid development teams to the design and development completion under aggressive timelines.
  • Define standards, policies, procedures, measures, and organizational enhancements to meet Company goals for the Technology function
  • Establish key performance indicators
  • Mentor staff to assist in cultivating leadership, technical skills and business acumen
  • Establish short and long‐term goals
  • Create technical design for large, complicated projects
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations
  • Research and evaluate third party software for usage in development lifecycle to aid in driving efficiency and/or quality
  • Define development standards and methodologies
  • Define design documentation methodology and philosophy
  • Utilize ingenuity and inventive thinking to evaluate options for design and derive the best solutions based on sound analytical judgment, team input and the customers’ best interest
  • Manages all research, development, and product design initiatives
  • Lead and manage the overall department of Information Technology
  • Partner with 3rd party on digital marketing/advertising, common data modeling, and application development
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Project Management - Develop project plans; Coordinate projects; Communicate changes and progress; Complete projects on time and budget; Manage project team activities.

Education and Training

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer information systems or IT management.
  • Preferred: Master’s in IT-related field or business administration (MBA)
  • Must be an established IT professional and business leader, with a proven track record of IT leadership, financial management, and strategic planning

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Information Technology with at least five years of executive level experience and increasing leadership responsibilities in a company of equivalent or larger scale and complexity.
  • S/he will have a proven and outstanding executive track record in IT management and computer information system with successful experience around technology futures, policy, standards, budgets and strategic planning and executive level business partnership and team building.
  • The CIO will have solid academic credentials and a distinguished professional record.
