Overview

 The Information Security Intern is a member of the Enterprise Security Office team.  This is a paid internship and candidates must be able to work full-time over the summer.

This position is designed for self-motivated individuals with an insatiable appetite to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in information security. This internship program will assist in further developing professional skills in the field of Information Security to include security operations, engineering, security governance, compliance management and risk management. This position will have the opportunity to better understand the different facets of an effective Information Security Program and gain practical experience as you work alongside information security thought leaders. You will be assigned multiple mentors to shadow as you work on various assignments.

  • Considerable writing proficiency and visual design skills, oral presentation skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Applicant must be currently be enrolled in an accredited 4 year college program, working towards a degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or any engineering major, and graduating in the next two years (or sooner). Applicant must be returning to classes after the internship. 
  • Common body of knowledge: some upper-level course work on information security, some knowledge and academic/work experience on logical security domains
  • Familiar and eager to learn security concepts and technologies for Information and Physical security.
  • Considerable writing proficiency and visual design skills, oral presentation skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
