Job Description


Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.  This position also provides technical insight and assistants to Programmer/Analysts and Programmers.


  • Develops and maintains automated data processing systems and computer application programs.
  • Develops specifications to detail what new systems or enhancements to existing systems can accomplish.
  • Develops specifications for databases, communication systems, and software configurations.
  • Serves as liaison with users concerning requests, usage, standards, security, and other developmental and production matters.
  • Develops detailed systems operations designs.
  • Tests programs and systems and integrates system modules.
  • Converts and implements new systems or upgrades existing systems.
  • Develops cost estimates for systems development and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Evaluates, implements, and provides customer support for third-party software systems in a client server environment.
  • Provides technical insight and assistance to Programmer/Analysts and Programmers


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or related certifications required, with 5+ years progressive experience

Technical Skills:

  • AS/400 (iSeries) Development
  • RPG III , RPG/IV, RPGILE and Free form RPG
  • CLP
  • DB2/400
  • Proficient in SQL/embedded in RPG programs
  • Query400
  • D. Edwards including World reporting tools FASTRS, World Writers, and Dream Writers
  • DB2 SQL
  • XML/JASON scripting
  • IFS
  • FTP scripting
  • Microsoft Windows

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the role to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. 10-20% of travel is required.
