POSITION TITLE:                            Paralegal

DIVISION/LOCATION:                  SunStreet/Miami, FL                                                

REPORTS TO:                                 General Counsel 

POSITION SUMMARY:                               

The paralegal will assist the Legal department with legal entity maintenance, applying for and renewing required licenses and authorizations, managing contracts and assisting the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, as needed.




  • Maintain corporate records.
  • Send all third-party contracts for execution; log all contracts and track for expiration and renewals.
  • Assist with updating all forms of Customer Agreements and coordinate the uploading of the forms into Salesforce.
  • Respond to initial inquiries from Customer Care and escalate to General Counsel, if necessary.
  • Manage formal complaints from the Better Business Bureau and state licensing boards and escalate to the applicable SunStreet department for response.
  • Manage bankruptcy notices, engage outside counsel, coordinate with Asset Management.
  • Manage foreclosure notices, communicate with lender and new owner, when applicable, and coordinate execution of new agreements.
  • Obtain and maintain General Contractor Licenses in all states, track expiration and manage renewals.
  • Coordinate execution of, and maintain, Settlement Agreements from collections counsel.
  • Manage and track insurance requirements of vendors.
  • General administrative duties relating to corporate records. 



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Associate’s degree and paralegal certification required
  • Previous experience of at least 2 years in a paralegal position within a law firm or corporate in-house preferred.
  • Understanding of the recording of real estate documents desirable.

  • Typing at 65 words per minute
  • Excellent command of the English language; written and verbal
  • Excellent grammar/spelling - Attendance and punctuality imperative
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point skills (familiarity with Salesforce and Serengeti also desirable)
  • Excellent telephone etiquette - Arrive to work on time
  • Follow directions from supervisor
  • Interact well with co-workers, supervisors and management
  • Understand and follow posted work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive criticism.  


This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.  May be required to operate a motor vehicle
