Job Description


Assist department staff with various tasks involving plan check and permits processing and other related duties as directed by department associates.


  1. Responsible for completing permit applications
  2. Responsible for plan check set packaging and submittal
  3. Responsible for permit application delivery to all municipalities and pick up when ready
  4. Responsible for coordination and delivery of plan checks with all applicable consultants
  5. Responsible for permit delivery to applicable project superintendents
  6. Liaison to cities, counties, public works, Fire Department, Water Department and other municipalities
  7. Create check requests, populate building, solar, fire, water meter and other applications as required
  8. Liaison to schools districts – Create check requests, calculate school fees and pay school letters
  9. Responsible for tracking plan check status and updating plan check status matrix
  10. Perform all other duties as required


Education and Additional Requirements:

  • Three (3) years in homebuilding related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Microsoft Excel and Project experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting various deadlines
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Follow directions from a supervisor
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Team player


  • This is primarily a field position with partial office time which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 50 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.  Associate is required to operate a motor vehicle.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:

  • The median base compensation for this position is estimated to be $54,720 annualized, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors including employee qualifications and operational considerations. 
  • This position will be eligible for company benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage along with a broad range of supplemental benefits including 401K Retirement Plan, prepaid legal assistance, and more.  We also offer paid time off for vacation, sickness, holiday, and bereavement.  We are pleased to be able to provide 100% company paid life insurance and long-term disability insurance.
