Overview

The Architectural Project Manager ensures all plans meet current code requirements and revises plans to meet changing market conditions.



Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and project management oversight to ensure that the designed plans adhere to the organizations standards, industry code regulations / best practices, and policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Evaluate architectural covenants and zoning requirements during feasibility.
  • Present, negotiate, and secure architectural approval from developer’s while adhering to required deed restrictions and zoning regulations.
  • Review sales collateral relating to home brochure floor plan and elevation renderings to ensure accuracy and reduce company risk of misrepresentation. Work in conjunction with the marketing team to optimize same.
  • Coordination of plans using Box content cloud platform.
  • Manage and maintains all product files for Division.
  • Work in conjunction with architects, engineers, purchasing, construction teams and trade partners to ensure all product construction documents are accurately maintained.
  • Maintain plan change request (PCR) process via spreadsheet and distribution of documented changes for use by internal associates.
  • Participate in all prototype frame walks on new product, note all changes, and process walk notes through plan change request.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, as well as develop alternative solutions.
  • Business acumen, strong understanding of financial aspects of residential construction and direct costs.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and manage individuals and team to ensure top performance of all team members in achieving desired results while finding efficient and effective solutions that create overall organizational value.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College Degree preferred– BA/BS in related subject.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in project management/construction field.
  • Proficient in use of spreadsheet software, critical path management software, word processing software, internet resources and presentation software.
  • Must be able to assess and interpret vertical construction plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize complex or diverse information and develop resolution.
  • Excellent understanding of residential building code, components, materials and construction means and methods.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams, and individually. Show initiative, taking prompt, self-directed action to accomplish objectives.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to manage many projects simultaneously. Excellent time management and organization skills are essential in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Quick learn; excellent plan, elevation and mechanicals knowledge; and sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
