Job Description


Support the MDM Group and Category Managers


Reporting and Analysis

  • Produce category data reporting (IISR) that identifies which divisions are not using new items within a released category and communicate to the Division DOP’s and RVPs on a monthly or quarterly basis as require by the Category Manager (CM).
  • Produce Item Inactivation reporting twice a year for review by the MDM Director. Communicate items for inactivation to all Divisions and ROC’s.
  • Provide ongoing reporting insights and analytics to the MDM Director and Purchasing teams.

Category Manager Support

  • Support assigned Category Manager with RFP’s preparations.
  • Prepare category data for the CM’s during the Item Master Cleanup.
  • Prepare reporting on item usage for review by CM’s.
  • Work with CM to determine Level of Detail, Schema and Attributes that will be used for each assigned category.
  • Work with CM’s and RVP’s to get approval on Level of Detail (LOD) by category.
  • Create new items and attributes as directed by the CM’s and MDM Director.
  • Map old items to new as directed by the MDM Director.
  • Create Category worksheets for Divisions on approved schedule.
  • Work with Divisions to ensure worksheets are complete.
  • Communicate to MDM Group once all Worksheets have been returned and reviewed and ready to run F&R (Find and Replace) process.

Data Management

  • Assist with new item requests as directed by the MDM Director. Work with the Divisions and Category Managers to ensure that the request is either approved or is denied based on the Category Managers response.
  • Ensure Item Attributes and New Items are in sync between SharePoint and JDE. Update SharePoint as necessary.
  • Work with IT to ensure expiring items have been inactivated.


  • Two (2) years in home-building related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College Degree a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe
  • Must be able to perform accurate, consistent and detail-oriented work
  • Highly motivated
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule
  • Accept constructive feedback




This is a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
