Overview

           

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Responsible for the processing and payment of invoices.  Generate reports and various other accounting functions. Collaboratively works with all departments and trade partners to ensure proper payment and response to inquiries. Maintain PCS database and JDE.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Process invoices, which include obtaining proper approvals, verifying account coding, check mathematical accuracy of support.
  • Verify invoices include appropriate lien releases.
  • Track preliminary lien notifications.
  • Code utility invoices. Research prior/past due balances noted on invoices to determine if prior invoices have been paid or not. If not yet paid, contact appropriate parties to ensure backup is obtained and put through the normal approval and payment process.
  • Release current week’s ACH payments.
  • Process stop payment/void requests.
  • Process check requests.
  • Prepare cash deposits.
  • Maintain vendor files.
  • Run A/P aging, lien workbench report and other required reports.
  • Process letters of credit and manage letter of credit tracking form.
  • Receptionist duties, such as answering phones and distributing mail to associates.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly reporting as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist with Escrow Duties as assigned.
  • Assist with month end close duties as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • One (1) of years accounts payable/general accounting experience with computer background.
  • One (1) of years work experience, including relevant homebuilding experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • JD Edwards experience highly desirable
  • 10 keys by touch
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Follow directions from a supervisor
  • Interact well with co-workers
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
