Job Description

Overview

Process permit applications, assist DRE Coordinator and Permit Manager with all aspects of starts, compile all information relevant to starts, update starts maps, create forms, sign off receipts, create work order notifications.



Responsibilities

  • Work with DRE Coordinator to select home sites and set up on Smartsheet.
  • Check Lot Fit for plan/elevation selections from Sales.
  • Check garage swing against NVE Plan/Utility/Lot Fit confirming Civil Engineering recommendations.
  • Check backwater valves/pressure relief valve requirements.
  • Verify addresses are correct and match in all systems.
  • Check Z-Options 2 weeks before ROC receives starts.
  • SPA/SOP/JDE check to ensure start information is correct before sending to ROC.
  • Complete Starts monthly checklist.
  • Update Starts maps to be current at all times, published for Division and Corporate access.
  • Create work order notification; submit to Accounting for contract processing.
  • Scans work order requests to DocuSign for approval.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to determine the MEP trades for each municipality by community.
  • Prepare, pay and upload permit applications to municipalities as applicable.
  • Prepare and upload permit applications and supporting documents for all agencies (new apps and expired).
  • Sign off receipts
  • JDE input (plan/elevation/swing/inventory/model “S” vs “M”).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • One (1) year experience in the building industry
  • High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Experience with public agencies a plus
  • Knowledge of Plot Plan Review a plus
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must possess professional attitude to represent company in a positive manner with customers, subcontractors and municipalities
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Follow directions from a supervisor
  • Interact well with co-workers
  • Understand and follow posted and distributed work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Team player

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office supplies and materials weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard, calculator and telephone equipment.  Will operate a motor vehicle.
