Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position requires assisting the VP Purchasing in identifying homes to start by month including homesite, plan, elevation, garage handing and options and communicating this to third party drafters to generate plot plans and to draw plot plans as requested. Assist the permit coordinators in reviewing plot plans, submitting and obtaining permits, and ordering water meters. Generate lot fit analysis by community as requested. The position requires an ability to be multi-task oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • At the start of each community, provide Cad base files, typical plot plans, lot fit analysis and plotting standards to third party drafting companies.
  • In conjunction with sales, identify homes to start each month including the community, homesite, plan, elevation, garage handing and options. Verify that the homes selected meet the plotting criteria for each community. Coordinate this information with third party drafting companies and set due dates to obtain plot plans.
  • Review third party plot plans for accuracy.
  • Draw plot plans for certain communities as requested.
  • Assist Permit Coordinators with submitting and obtaining permits, ordering water meters and coding the receipts.
  • Identify issues and conflicts that occur with utilities, driveways, handicap ramps and streetlights. Coordinate with the architectural and land teams to prevent these issues from occurring.
  • Maintain the division plotting standards by community including current building codes, design review requirements, and division preferences.
  • Generate the Lot Fit Analysis by community as requested.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum four (4) years of related experience preferred
  • Must possess initiative and be highly motivated
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred but will accept equivalent experience
  • Strong Computer Skills required with intermediate or greater proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of current Building codes preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Strong work ethic, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
