The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for comprehensive system design, analysis, and product support for applications and initiatives surrounding company’s footprint of over 6,500 geographically-distributed computers.  They will also act as team lead for the Desktop Engineering team of four or more associates.  Duties will include applying existing expertise in the areas of server administration, networking and operating systems to facilitate company’s implementation and use of enterprise wide solutions such as Microsoft SCCM, Windows OS, Configuration Management Systems and others.

The Lead Systems Engineer will design and architect enhancements to existing and future systems and facilitate their integration into company’s environment.  As lead for the Desktop Engineering team, the Lead Systems Engineer will play an integral part in expanding, developing and maintaining Company’s desktop infrastructure and configuration management environment.


  • Oversee design, development and implementation of systems managed by the Web, Mobility and Desktop Engineering Team and any overarching projects amongst other teams
  • Act as team lead for the desktop engineering team
  • Engineer, configure and support device and configuration management systems
  • Integrate existing and future applications and systems
  • Plan and coordinate the formulation and adoption of standards and best industry practices that allow the operation of new technologies incorporated into the architecture of the institution
  • Engineer-level (Tier IV) support for Windows endpoints and peripherals
  • Maintain multi-platform server OS and hardware
  • Lead an ongoing effort to ensure that all company endpoints are properly updated, maintained and patched, working closely with our security, governance and QA teams
  • Draw upon deep technical knowledge to provide advanced engineering level expertise to IT Department personnel on complex projects and initiatives, resolve challenging infrastructure, OS and systems issues, and assist in making informed decisions
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Develop solutions using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies
  • Participate in conferences, forums, etc. to stay current with industry trends and advancements
  • Perform research around new technology and its integration into Lennar applications and systems
  • Apply communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues
  • Draw upon deep technical knowledge to assist internal teams in making informed decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members as well as third parties such as vendors to develop and implement new technology and systems solutions


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equiventlent relavent work experience required in the field of computer science or nformation technology
  • 6-8 years relevant work experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Active Directory, Windows server administration, and networking
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Relevant certifications (MCSA, etc.)
  • Full understanding of integrating, testing, evaluating and modifying systems

Physical Requirements: This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 50 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
