Job Description

Overview

Legal assistant (or equivalent) with regulatory and transactional (preferably real estate) experience.  



Responsibilities

  • Maintain a library and manage a large database of form documents relating to customer purchase and sale agreements for the sale of homes (“PSA Documents”). 
  • Work with Lennar associates and attorneys throughout the US to prepare, draft and edit PSA Documents.
  • Assist with drafting, editing and formatting PSA Documents.
  • Create and/or maintain regulatory databases, reports, and training modules regarding licensing, political contributions, advertising, warranties and other matters as they arise.
  • General administrative duties for one or more attorneys in corporate legal department.
  • Support other members of the legal team with document retention, insurance, and litigation related tasks as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0-1-year experience as a legal assistant working within a law firm or corporate in-house supporting regulatory and/or transaction (preferably real estate) lawyers.
  • 0-1-year experience with contract coordination for large company preferred


Physical Requirements:

 

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the Paralegal to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, good judgment, sense of responsibility, and ability to work under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Accurate typing at least 65 wpm

  • Proven ability to revise, organize, and track an extremely large volume of documents
  • Team player, able to work well with other members of the corporate legal, accounting, HR and operational teams to achieve company objectives on an often-short timeline
  • Strong intelligence, knowledge of required functions and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Excellent time management and outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience as a legal executive assistant or similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (familiarity with iManage, Salesforce, and Serengeti also desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Must possess professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must possess ability to handle priorities under pressure
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Interact well with co-workers
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Team player
