Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

This position requires assisting the Merchandising Director and Interior Designers with the development and implementation of model homes.  The position requires an ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, be detail oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, has the ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, is eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Interior Designers and Merchandising Director in all functions.
  • Assist in conceptual design presentations.
  • Assist in ordering and tracking of model furniture and accessories.
  • Work with the Merchandising Director to coordinate delivery and installation of model homes.
  • Coordinate model vendors – i.e. blinds, specialty built-ins and custom-made deliverables.
  • Work with Merchandising Director and Interior Designers to create interior model palettes.
  • Assist Merchandising Director on special design projects as necessary.
  • Coordinate vendor invoices for processing and payment with accounting departments.
  • Coordinate team travel.
  • Attend Model installations as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two (2) year of interior design experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CAD, Photoshop, and In-Design on Macintosh platform
  • Experience in purchasing and/or accounting preferred
  • Must possess initiative and be highly motivated
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task at a fast pace
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Copes well under pressure
  • Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted. Moderate Regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) may be required
  • Strong work ethic
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accept constructive feedback
  • Team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.  May operate a motor, vehicle.
