Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

This position requires assisting the Regional Merchandising Manager with detailed space planning and specification packages for Regional Welcome Home Centers and Model Homes.  The position required an ability to be multi-task oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete CAD drawings (including space plans, specifications and elevation details) for Welcome Home Centers and In-House Model Home projects.
  • Assist in the specification and purchasing efforts for all WHC and In-House Model furniture as requested by the Merchandising Manager and Director.
  • Attend Design Presentation meetings, frame walks and final model walks.
  • Purchase, track and maintain inventory of Model Furniture.
  • Assist in managing vendor invoices for processing and payment.
  • Assist Merchandising Manager and Director on special design projects as necessary.
  • Assist with designing, space planning, providing detailed specification packages and implementation of furnishings, graphics, etc. for Corporate and Divisional offices as needed.
  • Manage project costs and provide final budgets to Merchandising Manager.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising Assistant on delivery and installation schedules of Model Furniture.
  • Attend model installations.
  • Stay abreast of current design trends and practices; attend industry trade shows as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum three (3) years of Interior Design experience required
  • Must possess initiative and be highly motivated
  • Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
  • Interior Design background preferred
  • Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) on Macintosh platform
  • Basic understanding of California Building and ADA codes preferred
  • Strong organization skills, detail-oriented and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback
  • Strong work ethic, good communication and interpersonal skills

  • California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted.. Moderate Regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
