Summary of Position Requirements

Lennar, the largest homebuilder in the U.S. is currently looking for a motivated individual to join the Accounting team to support of the Divisions land activity.  The right candidate will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and be responsible for the completion and accuracy of daily accounting functions relative to, but not limited to budgeting, accounting and audit.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Review land costing for budget variances, cost code errors and overall accuracy
• Provide accounting support to Land teams
• Ensure land accounting entries are in compliance with Corporate policy
• Assist with creation and review of land budgets
• Prepare and distribute month end reports relating to land activity
• Review and submit wire requests
• Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Review property taxes and prepare monthly amortization
• Monitor fixed asset purchases and ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of assets
• Prepare journal entries as needed
• Assist in SG&A forecast preparation
• Review SG&A expenses and provide coding
• Set up new jobs in Accounting system
• Other ad hoc analyses, reports and projects as needed by division management

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from 4 year college or university is required (Accounting degree preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years general accounting experience required
• Experience working for a Homebuilder or Land accounting preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills required
• JD Edwards experience preferred
