Overview

The Sr Manager, Financial/Planning Systems will manage the company’s ERP JD Edwards System, ensuring Support, Development and System Integrity meet business requirements.  The position will oversee the Accounting, Homebuilding, Purchasing and Sales modules, managing multiple projects simultaneously.  The Sr Manager, Financial/Planning Systems will directly manage the JD Manager, ERP Business analysts as well as other financial related systems that integrate to the JD Edwards platform. The position will provide day to day guidance to the JD Edwards team, act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all financial projects, interact with executive leadership of the company to ensure company controls and compliance expectations are met when working through any and all projects.



Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Support teams for Homebuilding and Accounting,
  • Liaise with corporate and operational accounting, internal and external auditors as required.
  • Direct and participate in multiple projects for IT transformation including software evaluations, software selection, implementation planning and support
  • Validate and approve all Standard Operating Procedures documents and training documentation have been kept up to date.
  • Ensure and test that all policies, procedures, SOX requirements and standards of work are followed and compliant to expectations. Implementing controls when required.
  • Oversee the Month-end, Quarter-end and Year-end closing activities and reporting.
  • Lead process improvements discussions with business units to improve efficiency and accuracy of the system and the overall performance.
  • Participate in corporate initiatives as the SME for financial systems
  • Approve all functional specifications before development begins
  • Sign off on all interfaces between JDE and Third-Party applications
  • Coach and mentor team members to continue growth of knowledge in a professional capacity
  • In-depth knowledge of functional areas
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification required
  • 10+ years of combined system management, compliance and managerial experience.
  • 10+ years of ERP (with some JD Edwards) experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.

 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Accounting and SOX practices, including SDLC process for software development.
  • Experience with financial systems and support model.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and analyze to draw actionable conclusions and present to management.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, reports and spreadsheets to present information not data with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of HFM (Hyperion) and ESSBASE.
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information with all levels of management.
  • Collaborate effectively with other groups within Lennar as well as with third parties such as vendors
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills.
