Summary of Position:

LennarSFR (LSFR) is seeking a Accounting Manager to join the Single Family Rental (SFR) investment management platform. The Manager will support the finance, accounting, investor reporting and compliance functions of LennarSFR. LSFR is driven by data, analytics, and technology, and supported by a mature parent organization to create maximum value for its investors.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record journal entries to account for business activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS at both the fund and GP levels.
  • Ensure that all receivables, receipts, and payable items are validated; participate in and monitor processing of payables and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the accounts balance to underlying support and investigating and resolving any reconciling items.
  • Interpret and clarify property results, deviations, underlying causes and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Responsible for preparation and oversight of fund level consolidated financial statements.
  • Work closely with third party property manager to review monthly reporting and facilitate onboarding of new investments and communities.
  • Timely completion of month end close, responsible for close tasks.
  • Understand, perform and maintain functions in compliance with internal controls and business processes.
  • Perform analysis of account balances and activity and provide explanation on variances.
  • Assist the Controller in creating forms and manuals for accounting personnel.
  • Prepare monthly capital call and distribution notices.
  • Review capital call and distribution allocations, as well as partner capital statements.
  • Coordinate year-end audits and tax preparation.
  • Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
  • Support the funds’ day-to-day operations, including payment of fund fees and expenses and coordination of deal funding.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, ownership of projects and effectively communicate project status to necessary departments.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the General Ledger and account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Strong Knowledge of GAAP & IFRS.
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable and documentation compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as JD Edwards, Yardi, Quick Book).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Fund Management/Property Management/Commercial Real Estate Development experiences is a huge plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, follows tasks through to completion and has a high sense of urgency.

Physical Requirements:

This is a position which requires the LSFR Transaction Coordinator to be able to view computer screens, mobile devices and other electronic equipment, paper reports, and journals for extended periods of time where visual strain may result. Must be able to frequently walk, stand, and climb stairs in and around construction sites, communities, homes, models and properties. Also, must have the ability to speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 20 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. Regular travel is required to visit communities and offices throughout the region, and to attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
