Responsibilities

Summary of Position:

The Design Administrator is responsible for collaboration with the design management team, divisional development, construction, property management, and marketing teams on the design and execution of all leasing offices, amenities, common areas, residences, model homes, finish specifications and signage to enhance the prospective resident and resident experience at LMC’s “best in class” apartment communities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review construction documents and provide input on design coordination for a wide range of new development multifamily communities throughout the life cycle of the design process from conceptual through installation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners and provide feedback on creative visioning, innovation, space programming and floor plan development for common areas and residence floor plans including low voltage and audio/visual.
  • Review project for design consistency and coordination throughout design process to ensure community meets product-positioning targets. This includes consistency in architecture, interior design, MEP, finishes and signage. 
  • Assist Design Team review FF&E selections and finishes, outdoor furnishings, and fitness layout and equipment selections.
  • Assist Design Team with drawing coordination.
  • Assist development team with design related budgets and costs.
  • Review FF&E proposals.
  • Assist with value engineering to vet or find alternate ways and means and/or specifications.
  • Participate in box/framing walks for all common area spaces and residences as needed. Walk residences and common area spaces for progress and compliance with plans as needed.
  • Assist Design Team with installation schedules for FF&E.
  • Participate with any pick-up and follow-up as may be needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to keep informed about product offerings. Research new product and introduce to Development and Property Management Teams.  
  • Be conduit to share new design concepts and products cross divisionally.
  • Frequently tour multifamily competitors, hotels, model homes and keep informed on design trends.
  • Periodically attend design and multifamily related conventions and shows.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Certifications or Accreditations Preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate development (preferably with an emphasis on Multifamily), land development and project management and the demonstrated ability to build and direct effective teams to manage major development projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of development and construction practices.
  • Detail orientation and drive to always be on top of their areas of responsibility.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to manage up and down.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior desire to meet commitments/deadlines.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously through high energy, flexibility and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong BlueBeam and MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must have the ability to operate an automobile. Must have a valid state approved driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

This is a position which requires the Design Administrator to be able to view computer screens, mobile devices and other electronic equipment, paper reports, and journals for extended periods of time where visual strain may result. Must be able to frequently walk, stand, and climb stairs in and around construction sites, communities, apartment homes, models and properties. Also, must have the ability to speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 20 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary. Occasional travel is required to visit communities and offices throughout the US,, and to attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position. Must have ability to operate an automobile.
