Overview

The primary mission of the Lead Machine Learning Engineer role is to help our business evolve into an insights-driven organization. The position sits in our Enterprise Data and Analytics team, which aims to drive improved business outcomes using insights gleaned from data and analytics and infuse them into Lennar’s corporate fabric. The Lead Machine Learning Engineer’s primary focus is to enable our analytics and data science teams to quickly develop, test, iterate, deploy, monitor, and optimize advanced analytics products and services. The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will also help create advanced data and analytics products that empower our business users to make insights-driven decisions that deliver improved business outcomes.



Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with analytics product and data science teams to deliver machine learning software models and components to production
  • Develop and deliver a state-of-the-art enterprise data science platform
  • Construct optimized data pipelines to feed machine learning models
  • Establish model monitoring for both statistical measures and business outcome measures
  • Develop “human-in-the-loop” applications for enhanced decision making workflows
  • Create and integrate tools that facilitate governed model development for data science teams
  • Leverage cloud-based architectures and technologies to deliver machine learning models at scale
  • Partner with automation teams to create intelligent process automation architecture and bots
  • Wrangle and integrate data from various data sources using sound software engineering practice
  • Hypothesize, experiment, and learn iteratively and quickly, without being afraid to fail
  • Apply math and statistics background to develop novel algorithms, models, performance measures, and simulations
  • Mentor junior machine learning engineers to help them grow


Qualifications



Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science or equivalent field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years progressive work experience in related fields
  • 4+ years providing deploying machine learning models to production
  • 4+ years developing in cloud environments
  • Thirst to help transform Lennar into an insights-driven organization
  • Creative self-starter who is able to drive novel end-to-end solution development
  • Expertise in operationalizing data science models
  • Extensive experience embedding data science models into user-facing applications and driving action directly in those applications
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy data science models at scale in the cloud
  • Proficiency in CICD for deployment of data science and other advanced analytical models
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Kera, H20.ai
  • Understanding of trends in data science and evolution of machine learning stacks
  • Proficiency in building data pipelines to feed ML/NLP models
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy end-to-end data science applications in a corporate setting using machine learning models and pipelines
  • Proven Experience building data applications/products
  • Experience using RPA, AI and other emerging technologies in the Analytics space
  • Familiarity with Agile development such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies
  • Strong adherence to core software engineering principles (code modularization, versioning, git, testing etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL and RDBMS
  • Experience working with NoSQL database systems and big data technologies
  • Experience working with knowledge graphs and deploying data science models on them is a significant plus.


Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires he position  to have the ability to operate computer equipment. Finger dexterity is necessary.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel up to 10% of the time to Divisions within the Lennar family.
