We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Engineering team. This individual will oversee the development and delivery of cutting-edge mobile applications, ensuring high performance, quality, and seamless integration with backend systems. Your Responsibilities on the Team 

1. Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mobile engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning for team members.
  • Facilitate hiring efforts to build and scale a talented mobile engineering team.

2. Technical Oversight & Delivery:

  • Oversee the end-to-end development of iOS and Android mobile applications, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to define and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, architecture, and mobile-specific development standards.

3. AI and Advanced Technologies:

  • Drive the integration of AI-powered features, including LLMs and generative AI, into mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with AI and backend teams to ensure seamless implementation of intelligent and personalized features.

4. Process & Agile Practices:

  • Implement and optimize Agile development processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with project goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement in development practices, tooling, and workflows.
  • Oversee sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management processes.

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a bridge between engineering and business teams, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with DevOps, QA, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery.

6. Quality & Performance:

  • Ensure mobile applications are performant, secure, and scalable across a range of devices and platforms.
  • Drive testing strategies, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, to maintain code quality.
  • Champion user-centric design and usability for mobile applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in mobile application development.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile apps.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mobile development frameworks, tools, and platforms (Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, TensorFlow Lite, Core ML, ML Kit).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, particularly on Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise.
  • Understanding of cloud services, backend integration, and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI-powered features and integrating LLMs in mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and testing strategies.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean software development methodologies.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
