Purchasing Coordinator Summary:

Responsible for contracts and/or insurance administration.  Perform clerical duties and administrative support for department.

  • Set up and maintain all contracts and log files.
  • Initiate all paperwork regarding contracts, change orders, and purchase orders, back charges and online contracts, and checking all for accuracy (i.e., coding, signature, amounts, etc.)
  • Prepare contracts for each trade and follow-up on finalizing.
  • Issue PO’s and EPO’s as needed.
  • Setup sublists and respond to field request for contract information.
  • Balance budget for weekly homesite starts.
  • Interface with the Accounting Department to ensure prompt payment for trade partners.
  • Perform research for payment issue that may arise.
  • Work with risk management and in-house counsel to ensure trade partner insurance compliance.
  • Prepare master scopes & project scopes of work for signature and ensure they are signed and logged in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all potential and existing trade associates.
  • May be required to cross train for position(s) within the division organizational structure from time to time, as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year in field operations, purchasing and/or construction management experience working in homebuilding preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High degree of construction knowledge
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality relative to daily work schedule is required
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Accepts constructive feedback
  • Team player

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:

We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an hourly rate of $19.64 - $32, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
