We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Frontend Software Engineer to join our Mobile Engineering team. This individual will play a key role in designing and developing state-of-the-art mobile applications that combine exceptional user experiences with advanced AI capabilities, including generative AI and large language models (LLMs). The ideal candidate is an expert in mobile development, AI integration, and creating seamless, impactful digital experiences. Your Responsibilities on the Team 

1. Mobile Application Development:

  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality mobile applications using modern frameworks and best practices.
  • Ensure applications deliver exceptional user experiences and perform seamlessly across platforms (iOS and/or Android).
  • Leverage cutting-edge mobile development tools and techniques to build scalable, maintainable, and robust codebases.

2. AI Integration:

  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate generative AI, LLMs, and machine learning models into mobile applications.
  • Design intuitive user interfaces and workflows that incorporate AI-powered features such as personalized recommendations, natural language interfaces, and content generation.
  • Optimize AI integration for mobile environments, ensuring efficiency and responsiveness.

3. Generative AI & LLM Experience:

  • Implement features powered by LLMs, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, or text completion tools, into mobile applications.
  • Leverage generative AI frameworks to build creative solutions like content generation, image synthesis, or augmented reality experiences.
  • Work with APIs and platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or other LLM providers to integrate state-of-the-art models.

4. User Experience Excellence:

  • Partner with UX/UI designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly mobile interfaces.
  • Continuously improve usability by implementing feedback and conducting user testing.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product managers, backend developers, and AI teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Partner with QA teams to ensure applications meet quality and performance benchmarks.
  • Serve as a mobile engineering expert, offering mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

6. Best Practices and Innovation:

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in mobile development, AI technologies, and user experience design.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in mobile development, AI integration, and performance optimization.
  • Contribute to the overall technical strategy for mobile engineering, generative AI, and LLM applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mobile application development.
  • Proven track record of building and shipping high-quality mobile apps for iOS and/or Android.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models, including generative AI and LLMs, into mobile or web applications.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in native mobile development using Swift, Kotlin, or Java.
  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with generative AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, Core ML, or PyTorch) and LLM APIs like OpenAI or Hugging Face.
  • Expertise in cloud services and mobile backend integration (e.g., Firebase, AWS Amplify, or similar).

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building AI-driven conversational interfaces or chatbots.
  • Background in leveraging LLMs for advanced mobile experiences like natural language queries or content recommendations.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
