As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that leverage data and AI to transform construction processes. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, and industry experts to design, implement, and maintain robust platforms. Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, efficient backend services for B2B enterprise applications.

  • Build and optimize multi-tenant SaaS solutions on AWS, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.

  • Lead and own efforts in infrastructure automation, optimization (including cost), and CI/CD implementation using AWS tools.

  • Ensure high-quality code through rigorous test-driven development and code reviews.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop APIs and backend services.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to align on goals and deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and implement robust security measures (e.g., encryption, secure data separation and handling) across backend services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering.

  • 7+ years in experience in backend software engineering, at least 4 years working with AWS.

  • Expertise in AWS core services (e.g., EC2, CloudFormation, Lamda, API Gateway, etc.).

  • Strong programming skills in Python (optional: C/C++, Java- / Typescript).

  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade B2B applications.

  • Strong understanding of API design and database management.

  • Demonstrated experience with test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

  • Confidence in your abilities, balanced with humility and a willingness to learn from others.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CPaaS (e.g., AWS Pinpoint, Twilio, Plivo).

  • Experience in the construction industry or related fields.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:

We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an annual salary of $115,829.00 - $138,004, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
