We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Director of Cloud Engineering to lead the strategic design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our cloud-based platforms and underlying infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and optimizing our enterprise-scale multi public cloud environments, overseeing enterprise network connectivity, and ensuring robust compute hosting strategies that align with Lennar business objectives.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Strategic Cloud Leadership:

    • Define the long-term cloud infrastructure roadmap, aligning solutions with business goals and evolving market conditions.

    • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring maximum ROI and optimal resource allocation.

  • Enterprise Network Architecture & Management:

    • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of highly available, secure, and performant enterprise network solutions.

    • Drive strategies to modernize network architecture, optimize network bandwidth, network virtualization, and advanced monitoring and analytics tools to support a distributed workforce and customer base.

  • Compute Hosting & Infrastructure Optimization:

    • Lead the strategic planning and management of compute hosting solutions (public cloud, and hybrid models) to ensure scalability, cost-effectiveness, and superior performance.

    • Champion the adoption of containerization, orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes), and emerging technologies to streamline application delivery and reduce operational overhead.

  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation:

    • Cultivate a DevOps culture by encouraging the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to automate provisioning, configuration, and management tasks.

    • Ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are refined and optimized for seamless deployments and rapid innovation cycles of infrastructure and environment patterns.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Implement best-in-class security frameworks, monitoring solutions, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS) for all cloud and network platforms.

    • Collaborate with the Security team to proactively mitigate risks, enforce access controls, and ensure data protection across all layers of the infrastructure.

  • Performance Monitoring & Cost Management:

    • Leverage advanced observability tools, metrics, and analytics to track system health, performance, and capacity planning.

    • Continuously optimize infrastructure spend, negotiating vendor contracts and ensuring cloud cost efficiency without compromising on performance or reliability.

  • Team Leadership & Talent Development:

    • Recruit, mentor, and guide a high-performing team of cloud and infrastructure engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

    • Invest in professional development opportunities, performance feedback, and career growth initiatives to maintain a skilled, engaged, and motivated team.

  • Vendor & Partner Management:

    • Manage strategic relationships with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, & OCI), networking vendors, and other technology partners.

    • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and vendor solutions, ensuring that the organization leverages cutting-edge capabilities.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Deep knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,) and hybrid cloud architectures.

    • Strong understanding of enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, load balancing, firewalls), DNS, and CDN configurations.

    • Proficiency in virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Leadership & Communication:

    • Proven track record of leading and scaling large infrastructure or cloud engineering teams in complex, globally distributed environments.

    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Familiarity with security best practices, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.

Education & Experience:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • 10+ years of progressive experience of Information Technology experience in areas such as cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or network operations,

    • 5+ years in leadership roles.

  • Preferred:

    • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP equivalent).

    • Demonstrated experience guiding digital transformation initiatives and scaling cloud operations in enterprise settings.
