Job Description


Responsible for the maintenance of budgets, analysis of job cost activity, preparation of variance reports, auditing escrow statements, performing account reconciliations and recordation of division level transactions.


  • Reconcile and record revenue and cost data for homebuilding closings.
  • Process proposed job cost budget changes.
  • Assist in generation of land development contracts, revisions and budgets.
  • Review and analyze job cost activity, budget comparisons, and prepare variance reports.
  • Coordinate the timely receipt of information supporting all division level transactions and allocations.
  • Prepare the necessary journal entries to record G/L transactions on a timely basis.
  • Reconcile applicable balance sheet accounts monthly and assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packages.
  • Prepare backlog and Gross Margin Percentage Report.
  • Prepare bank and fixed asset reconciliations.
  • Review disbursements for proper cost classification.
  • Review, code and deposit cash receipts in a timely basis.
  • Check and monitor the processing and recordation of project commitments (contracts, change orders, purchase orders).
  • Monitor and record property tax assessments.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


  • One (1) year of accounting related experience with previous experience in homebuilding or related industry highly preferred
  • Accounting degree or candidate actively pursuing four-year degree required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, Word and Excel spreadsheet; J.D. Edwards experience highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and ability to meet deadlines

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office supplies and materials weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard, calculator and telephone equipment.  May operate a motor vehicle.
