The role of the Audit Director is to oversee the Financial Internal Audit function. This role carries significant responsibility and authority to guide the Internal Audit Department in executing the annual audit plan across financial, operational, and compliance audits. This position is based onsite at our Corporate HQ in Miami, FL, 5 days per week in-office.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
Lead the development of the annual audit plan, including materiality calculations, risk assessments, and audit scope; present the plan to Senior Management and the Audit Committee for review and approval.
Oversee and approve individual audit approaches, risk assessments, and audit programs developed by Audit Managers and Staff for areas identified in the audit plan.
Champion AI literacy and adoption across the internal audit organization by building a culture where team members are empowered to identify new opportunities and work effectively alongside AI-enabled processes.
Produce audit communications that are polished deliverables using best-in-class data visualization principles to make insights immediately accessible.
Partner with Managers and Lead Auditors to support training and development initiatives.
Perform final reviews of financial audit workpapers.
Serve as the primary liaison to the external audit team.
Monitor the execution of audits and compliance activities; intervene and direct changes when necessary.
Participate in and/or conduct exit meetings with auditees, as needed.
Perform or assist with special reviews as required.
Uphold the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Code of Ethics and professional standards.
Perform detailed work related to financial and operational audits, depending on complexity and staffing needs.
Review and finalize audit results, including recommendations and conclusions.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures through examination of records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management and the Audit Committee.
Directly supervise Financial Audit Managers, Audit Supervisors, and Audit Seniors.
Your Toolbox
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
CPA required.
Minimum of 10 years of audit experience required.
