The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing the entire software engineering organization, driving the development of innovative software solutions, and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to manage multiple engineering teams and deliver high-quality software products.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

1. Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute the technical roadmap for cloud-native systems, applied AI, and full-stack development, ensuring alignment with business goals.

• Shape the vision for next-generation mobile applications that integrate generative AI and advanced analytics to enhance employee and customer experiences.

• Stay ahead of emerging technologies, including AI/ML, mobile frameworks, and cloud-native architectures.

2. Technology Delivery:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud-native platforms using tools such as Kubernetes, AWS /Azure, and infrastructure as code.

• Oversee the development of mobile-first solutions and full-stack applications, ensuring seamless integration with AI models and APIs.

• Drive the adoption and optimization of Palantir Foundry for application development, LLM applications and applied AI integration

• Leverage applied AI technologies like large language models (LLMs) to build personalized and predictive mobile and web experiences.

Partner with the Data & Analytics organization to ensure Inferences are delivered for consumption using an optimal application stack

3. Team Leadership and Development:

• Build, mentor, and lead a team of cloud engineers, full-stack developers, AI specialists, and mobile app developers.

• Foster a collaborative culture that promotes innovation, agility, and technical excellence.

4. Collaboration and Partnerships:

• Partner with Product, Data & Analytics, Business facing IT , Business and UX teams to define and prioritize features for mobile and web platforms.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors, including outsourcing partners, to accelerate development.

• Act as the primary technical Leader for Palantir Application and Applied AI development initiatives, ensuring effective integration with enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

  • Extensive experience in software architecture, system design, and leading large-scale engineering teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
