The Lennar Technology Group (LTG) Manager II, Business Systems, oversees a small team of technology professionals responsible for the development, implementation, support, and maintenance of Lennar’s Business Systems applications and platforms. This role ensures application enhancements and ongoing support while collaborating with application development teams to stay informed about new deployments and drive the success of managed platforms.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Assess market needs and inspire cross-functional teams to find the fastest way to achieve value around those needs.
  • Deliver business value to drive organizational goals, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through quality products.
  • Work closely with teams of developers, designers, and business partners within the designated enterprise product line.
  • Support in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all organizational levels, and support cross-functional product teams.
  • Work at both the strategic level (generating innovative ideas for growth, change management) and the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems, being a force multiplier and leader of their teams).
  • Often responsible for higher-profile initiatives or those that are larger in scope.

Strategy & Planning:

  • Empathize with and understand the end user deeply to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
  • Translate business goals and end-user needs into product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
  • Manage and groom the product backlog; make future decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
  • Partner with specified business team(s) to understand technology needs and assist in creating roadmaps and technology plans for new opportunities.
  • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Ensure that product directions balance both user needs and business goals of driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Delivery & Execution:

  • Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
  • Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
  • Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning.
  • Make product decisions that drive value daily.
  • Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.

People:

  • Foster collaboration with team and cross-team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
  • Act as a proponent of modern software development practices.
  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with and understanding user needs.
  • Work with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps.
  • Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy; provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
  • Guide more junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
  • Participate in and contribute to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices (communities of practice).
  • Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities in support of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 7-9 years of experience, with 1-2 years in a management role.
  • Advanced project management, cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working as a Technology Manager, Technology Lead, Product Manager, or Program Manager in a modern software development-based enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically DevOps principles, test-driven development, and continuous deployment.
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, fluid environment where priorities shift regularly.
  • Proficiency in communicating with and influencing functional and technical team members at all levels in the organization.
  • Proficiency in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design and development team.
  • Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
  • Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
  • Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value.
  • Proficiency in conducting competitive research and analysis.
  • Experience guiding more junior team members through Product Management & Business Analysis fundamentals in a professional setting.
