Job Overview: The Senior Director, Product is an executive-level role responsible for leading the entire product management function within the organization. This role involves shaping the long-term product strategy, managing a portfolio of diverse product lines, and ensuring that all product initiatives align with the company's strategic goals. The Senior Director, Product will be a key member of the executive team, influencing the direction of the business, driving innovation, and ensuring that the company remains competitive in the market.



Job Duties and Responsibilities

Executive Product Leadership:

  • Develop and drive the long-term product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the product management organization, setting the direction for all product initiatives and ensuring that they align with the company’s growth goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to prioritize product investments, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to maximize strategic impact.

Leadership and Organizational Development:

  • Oversee the entire product management team, including Directors, Senior Product Managers, and Product Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Set organizational goals for the product management function, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and driving accountability at all levels.
  • Mentor and develop senior product leaders, providing guidance and support as they navigate complex product and market challenges.

Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with leaders across the organization, including engineering, marketing, sales, finance, and operations, to drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance product success and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated go-to-market strategies, ensuring that product launches are successful and meet business objectives.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the executive team on all product-related matters, providing insights and recommendations that influence business strategy.

Product Portfolio Management and Optimization:

  • Oversee the management of a diverse product portfolio, ensuring that each product line delivers against key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to the company’s overall growth.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize the product development process, implementing best practices that drive efficiency, quality, and innovation.
  • Continuously evaluate product performance, using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and drive ongoing improvement.

Stakeholder and Market Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the executive team, customers, partners, and investors.
  • Present product strategies, performance updates, and key initiatives to the board of directors and other key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive activities, and emerging technologies, using this knowledge to guide strategic product decisions.

Customer and Innovation Focus:

  • Ensure that the product management organization remains deeply engaged with customers, gathering insights that inform product strategy and innovation.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to product development, ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation, encouraging teams to explore new ideas and technologies that differentiate the company’s products in the market.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role overseeing large product portfolios and multiple business units.
  • Proven track record of driving product innovation, leading high-performing teams, and delivering successful products at scale.
