The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounting of cash receipts, escrow deposits, closing proceeds and related reports as well as monthly bank reconciliations.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Assists with month end close, including cash, escrow processing and related reports
  • Maintains sound accounting methods and systems in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly bank account and general ledger reconciliations
  • Research and assign proper accounting codification to cash transactions (cash receipts, incoming and outgoing wires and ACH payments and collections) from multiple bank accounts
  • Record cash transactions journal entries to the GL
  • Assist divisions tracking payments received from customers and record interdivisional journal entries
  • Reconcile treasury monthly escrow release reports to GL and provide explanations for discrepancies
  • Assists in preparation of accurate monthly and quarterly reporting requirements
  • Assists in monthly revenue entries, various month-end accruals, re-classifications and allocation entries

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • One to three years of corporate or public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Word and Excel
  • JD Edwards and Hyperion experience preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard, calculator and telephone equipment.
