As the Director of Cloud Platform Engineering, you will define the architecture, build organizational workflows, and lead the teams that power our engineering ecosystem. This role requires a unique blend of hands-on full-stack engineering expertise, deep platform engineering knowledge, and mature people leadership, with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled platforms. You will influence enterprise architecture, lead managers and senior engineers, and guide technical decisions across cloud platform engineering embedding Agentic AI capabilities and intelligent automation into developer workflows, operational systems, and platform decision-making.

Your Responsibilities on the Team
Define and drive the long-term architecture for cloud platforms, internal developer platforms, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Lead managers, tech leads, and senior engineers across Cloud, Platform, DevEx, and AI-augmented platform capabilities.
Provide hands-on technical leadership by reviewing designs, guiding full-stack architecture, and prototyping platform and AI-enabled components.
Build and scale internal developer platforms including golden paths, templates, self-service provisioning, service catalogs, workflow automation, and AI-assisted developer experiences.
Champion a platform-as-product and AI-as-a-capability mindset, measuring adoption, satisfaction, productivity, and friction to continuously improve outcomes.
Partner with product and software engineering teams to deeply understand developer pain points and deliver intelligent, high-leverage solutions powered by automation and AI.
Drive operational excellence across reliability, availability, security, performance, cost governance, and AI-informed decision systems.
Establish and track engineering, experience, and intelligence metrics, including DORA,SPACE, CI/CD performance, onboarding time, MTTR, and AI-driven insights and recommendations.
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted tooling across CI/CD, observability, incident response, cost optimization, security, and developer productivity.
Own staffing strategy, hiring, performance management, and talent development, building teams fluent in platform engineering, automation, and applied AI.
Influence cross-functional leadership through chapters, guilds, security reviews, AI governance discussions, strategic planning, and executive forums.
Foster a culture grounded in innovation, inclusion, high technical rigor, continuous learning, responsible AI use, and psychological safety.
Requirements
10+ years of software engineering experience, including platform engineering.
3+ years in leadership roles managing managers and senior engineers.
Proven success leading platform organizations at scale, delivering developer enablement and operational excellence.
Strong grasp of modern AI, Cloud, DevOps, and Platform engineering practices, including IaC, and CI/CD.
Experience embedding Agentic AI capabilities into engineering workflows (e.g., developer productivity, observability, operations, or decision support).
Familiarity with AI-enabled tooling across software delivery, monitoring, security, or cost optimization.
Ability to balance innovation with governance, including AI ethics, security, and operational risk.
Executive-level communication, organizational strategy, and people development skills.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
