Responsible for directing and managing the Accounts Payable staff to provide accurate and timely processing and disbursement of vendor obligations and ensure the integrity of our financial accounting system. The management of the Accounts Payable staff includes leading the team in all aspects of Accounts Payable, hiring, training, assigning and directing the work flow of the staff. In addition, the Accounts Payable Manager is required to establish internal controls and procedures to protect the assets of the company and determine new controls or procedures that address the growth of the company. This position interacts on a regular basis with upper management and external customers as well as other internal customer departments to integrate solutions that meet the company's goals both financially and operationally. Other responsibilities include disaster recovery planning, and month end closing deadlines, and annual 1099 processing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:   - AA or BBA or equivalent related business experience with a medium to large corporation. - 15+ years general accounts payable experience with computer background. - 7+ years supervisory experience. - Demonstrate experience with project management and process improvement. - Experience with the set up and maintenance of the vendor master file. - Proven systems integration experience including planning, evaluation and implementation. - Advanced computer skills/proficiency in Excel/Word (Intermediate to Advanced skills preferred) and accounting/ERP systems. - JD Edwards experience a plus. - The ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skills. - Team oriented person who can focus both on the details and the "big picture" and who works well under pressure. - Proven results-oriented goals with a proactive management style to implement new processes. - The ability to deal effectively a rapid changing organization. - Must possess strong work ethic, integrity, loyalty and initiative in getting things done, as well as strong organizational skills.   CONTACTS:   Regular contact with division personnel; furnishing or obtaining information.  Frequent external contact with vendors where matters discussed require confidentiality, patience and clarity.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less.  Finger dexterity is required to operate a typewriter, computer keyboard and calculator.  May be required to operate a motor vehicle.   ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to: - Arrive to work on time - Follow directions from a supervisor - Interact well with co-workers - Understand and follow posted work rules and procedures - Accept constructive criticism   This position outlines the basic tasks and requirements for the position noted.  It is not a comprehensive listing of all job duties of the associates   Lennar is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.  PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   - Oversee the timely and accurate processing of checks (electronic and paper) as well as voids for all divisions. Work with Corporate accounting, divisions, and ROC’s to keep the outstanding check list current/accurate.    - Oversee the timely and accurate processing of corporate invoices. Ensure proper approvals are in place, account coding is correct, correct amounts are being paid, correct vendor has been selected, and correct terms are in place.  Ensure that cashiers checks, wire transfers, credit card transactions, etc. are recorded timely and accurately.   - Ensure that signature cards are maintained with current/accurate information for invoice processing and Payment Group Edit processing.   - Oversee Address Book maintenance. Review address book records added/modified by Corporate AP.  Ensure all new vendors have supplied W-9 forms with Tax ID information prior to payment.Ensure that AP address book audit reports are received and approved from each division controller or appropriate Regional Operations Center.   - Ensure all check processing, invoice processing, and corporate address book maintenance is in compliance with company policies and procedures.   - Ensure daily exceptions and reporting requirements for positive pay are completed timely and accurately.   - Oversee the coordination of quarterly/semi-annual 1099 report review. Coordinate and review the final 1099 reports for accuracy.  Coordinate the final 1099 printing and mailing to meet deadlines.  Minimize exposure to penalties and fines as related to erroneous 1099 filing.   - Key liaison with IS/various departments. Involved with strategic initiatives related to AP and process automation.  Engaged with IS to ensure all processes which impact AP are properly addressed.   - Support AP Managers at Regional Operation Centers and ensure ROC’s are in compliance with corporate procedures.   - Work with divisions, ROC’s, and corporate AP staff to collect debit balances and Lennar unclaimed property.   - Primary contact point for Internal and External auditors.   - Assist with training AP staff. Assist AP staff as needed to ensure workflow is on track.   - Create and maintain various spreadsheets/forms for use within the AP department. Develop AP metrics and report to upper management as requested.   - Perform additional related duties as assigned by Manager.   In addition to the above associate may be required to cross train for position(s) within the division’s organizational structure.
