The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing the entire software engineering organization, driving the development of innovative software solutions, and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Provide strategic leadership to the software engineering organization, overseeing multiple teams and ensuring the successful delivery of software projects.

  • Develop and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning it with the company’s overall business strategy.

  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and other departments to ensure the alignment of engineering efforts with business objectives.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, and testing across the organization.

  • Manage engineering resources, including budgeting, staffing, and technology investments.

  • Represent the engineering organization in executive meetings, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategy and execution.

  • Mentor and develop engineering managers, helping them grow in their leadership roles.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

  • Extensive experience in software architecture, system design, and leading large-scale engineering teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. This is primarily an active position which requires the Construction Manager to have the ability to work in excess of eight hours a day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds.  The Construction Manager must be able to operate computer equipment, see, speak, and hear. Finger dexterity is required to operate an iPad and phone.  Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, around hazardous chemicals, dust, and dirt.
