The solutions architect proactively and holistically leads and supports EA activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of solutions. Solutions include projects and products, systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services.
The solutions architect provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work
- Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements
- Supports product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and information
- Facilitates the evaluation, selection and TCO of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations
- Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify designs to accommodate the solutions architecture
- Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards
- Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
- Works closely with the program management office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product life cycle
- Provides deliverables like standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to support architectural governance to assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and IT estate
- Supports a community of practice (CoP), guiding and helping agile teams, product owners to align with the overall enterprise architecture governance and assurance
- Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision
Salesforce Domain Specific Responsibilities:
- Work with technical leads to design and implement Salesforce solutions tailored to business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop high-level solution architectures that define the end-to-end integration of Salesforce with other systems and technologies.
- Translate complex business needs into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions while considering scalability, performance, and security.
- Create the necessary epics and user stories in JIRA required to deliver the solutions.
- Leverage Salesforce best practices, standards, and frameworks in the solution design process.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and technical teams to understand business processes and requirements.
- Conduct workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for Salesforce solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them on the best use of Salesforce capabilities to meet business needs.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Salesforce modules such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and others.
- Stay updated on new Salesforce features, releases, and capabilities, advising clients on adopting new tools and functionalities.
- Recommend and implement customizations, integrations, and configurations to extend Salesforce functionality.
- Ensure the adherence to Salesforce coding standards and best practices across the development and deployment phases.
- Analyze the performance of existing Salesforce solutions and recommend optimizations to enhance speed, scalability, and user experience.
- Identify potential risks in the architecture or project timelines and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Provide recommendations for risk resolution, ensuring timely delivery and performance of the Salesforce solution.
Your Toolbox
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments
- Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences
- Knowledge of (Add preferred languages)
- Good understanding of various database technologies like (Add preferred technologies)
- Skilled in various frontend web development languages (Add preferred languages)
- Sound knowledge of relevant enterprise, cloud or ERP systems (Add the name of the relevant system)
- Data savvy with knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network and security
- Good understanding of information principles and processes
- Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize and DevOps)
- Understanding of IT standards and controls
- Industry experience in applying application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture
- Proven analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with developers in an outsourced environment
- Skilled at understanding the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
- Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
