In collaboration with Platform/Product Owners, under the general direction of the VP of Enterprise Architecture, provides a high-level, all-inclusive vision of ERP Adoption and requirements of any transition and hybrid aspects of implementation. The Platforms architect provides consultative enterprise architecture services to the ERP teams. The Platform architect must have a broad understanding of architecture domains (business, information, application, technology, etc.) and know how to apply concepts from those domains to the specific needs of their Platforms team(s) while respecting the architecture principles and guardrails of the enterprise at large. They provide leadership in defining the Platforms strategy in collaboration with the Business systems leader and Platforms stakeholders and ensure alignment between the business goals of the Platforms and the technical architecture that supports it. They support distributed architecture decision making through regular consultation with Platforms teams, identifying architecture decisions to be made and providing guidance on interpreting the reference architecture. They help ERP teams proactively identify technical roadblocks, identify appropriate resolutions to those roadblocks and coordinate with delivery teams to ensure delivery of value to the business.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design SAP platform and explore solution alternatives when integrations and other functional solutions.

  • Actively participate in the continuous exploration processes.

  • Define required ERP subsystems and their interfaces, understand solution deployment options, and communicate requirements to delivery and functional teams.

  • Work with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level ERP Intent, and the solution intent information models and documentation requirements.

  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.

  • Collaborate with key enterprise stakeholders to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive technology strategy. Focuses on operational excellence, optimizing costs and mitigating risk.

  • Facilitates enterprise strategy development, including enterprise landscape analysis, opportunity identification, technology and business cases, and business innovation portfolio development along with operating model refinement.

  • Plan and develop the ERP Architectural roadmap in support of new business Features and Capabilities

  • Support technology/engineering aspects of Program and Solution Kanban for ERP migration to the Cloud.

  • Provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality of the ERP at Enterprise level.

  • Ability to perform an assessment of the ERP implementation, understand that current state and its implications to processes, document and communicate those findings effectively to internal and external teams, and make proactive recommendations for optimization and improvement of the overall solution.

  • Assist in developing a prioritized implementation/transformation roadmap.

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture to analyze the current state and future needs of the SAP landscape and propose the optimal technical architecture and roadmap.

  • Design, configure, test, and deploy SAP solutions using various technologies and tools such as Business Technology Platform, HANA, Fiori, etc.

  • Provide technical guidance on platform configuration to the SAP application teams ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and methodologies.

  • Partner with SAP Service Delivery Manager to monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of the SAP systems and applications.

  • Coach, mentor and collaborate with other architects and peers to develop an enterprise architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience including at least 15-20 years' experience in ERP design, implementation, delivery and maintenance of Solution Landscapes.

  • Have been part of at least two full lifecycles of ERP Implementations.

Physical Requirements:

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strategic knowledge of ERPs like SAP S4/HANA, SAP Rise, Oracle JDE E1, vendor services, MDM, and Analytics and reporting solutions required to integrate within the enterprise.

  • Recent experience in NetWeaver technology includes S/4, ECC, BW, SCM, and/or HANA 2.0.

  • Subject matter expert on SAP platform architecture with a background in SAP Basis.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver application development including integration between heterogeneous systems and technologies.

  • Experience as a technical leader on large successful SAP deployments or system conversions, ideally with S/4

  • Developed business and/or technology strategy and can work across all products, business channels and technology to provide a strong architectural vision based on reality of technical foundation and knowledge of the ERP landscape architecture, middleware, integrations.

  • Ability to building reference and logical architectures.

  • Ability to develop enterprise architecture artifacts and documentation including, but are not limited to, current and future systems/landscapes, business capability maps roadmaps, and process design documents.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating enterprise business processes with technology skills.

  • Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies.

  • Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making.
