Summary:

The Construction Training Manager is responsible for ensuring the division associates have the knowledge and skills to effectively execute upon Lennar’s construction standard operating procedures for home building. This position is responsible for creating a positive learning environment and focused on the continued development of associates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the hiring and interview process for selecting new construction talent.
  • Onboard new construction associates and execute knowledge assessments for all construction associates utilizing the established national learning guidelines.
  • Provide development feedback to construction associates for improvement and growth.
  • Perform quarterly review for new construction associates, providing feedback for training completed and upcoming opportunities for training.
  • Support, coach, and mentor individuals and teams to ensure top performance of all team members in achieving desired results.
  • Assess and identify existing Construction Managers to be trained as mentors. Document mentor performance through established performance criteria and associate competencies.
  • Support the division in the development, growth, placement, and retention of high potential associates.
  • Provide input on construction associate performance resulting in promotion/increase decisions and demotion/separation decisions.
  • Conduct on-site field training as well as classroom-style training.
  • Provide feedback to the learning team to improve upon content and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continued education regarding new products, code changes, and new construction techniques.
  • Conduct quality review audits during the construction process to ensure construction standards are being met and that trade partner completed work meets quality standards.
  • Translate field audits and reviews into training conducted with trade partners for improved quality and conformance to scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with external trade partners and vendors as outlined in the national learning guidelines.
  • Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, college degree in a construction related field desired.
  • Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license in good standing and auto insurance.
  • Minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in residential construction or project management, preferably with a national homebuilder desired.
  • Experience in leading organizational training and development programs preferred.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office required, JD Edwards, Auto CAD, Buzzsaw, Build Pro/SupplyPro experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of architectural design and level scheduling preferred.
  • Possess above average organizational, communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.

    Daily interaction with various division personnel, outside agencies, business partners, consultants, and vendors.

    Physical Requirements

    Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office and/or the field environment. Also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to see, speak and hear. Finger dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, iPad and iPhone. Must be able to work in an outdoor construction environment under all weather conditions around hazardous chemicals, dust and dirt. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork, and meeting with vendors and contractors and to receive/return phone messages. Standing is required for filing and copying. Limited travel may be required.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:

We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an annual salary of $82,317.98 - $111,529, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
  • This position may be eligible for bonuses.
  • This position may be eligible for commissions.
  • This position will be eligible for the described benefits listed in the above section in accordance with Company Policy.
