The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will lead our data engineering initiatives, managing teams of data engineers, analysts, and developers to architect and build modern, scalable data solutions that directly drive business impact. This role is pivotal in our ongoing migration from Azure to AWS, embracing a full cloud and data lake architecture. You will play a critical role in optimizing our data pipelines, empowering Data Scientists and Analysts, and enabling advanced AI and GenAI initiatives that will shape the future of our business.

Your Responsibilities on the Team

  • Lead and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a high-performing, results-driven culture.
  • Oversee the migration from Azure to AWS, establishing a modern data lake architecture.
  • Architect, design, and optimize scalable data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, Python, and SQL.
  • Build data solutions that support AI and GenAI initiatives, enabling the development of tools, metrics, and agents that drive business results.
  • Partner with Data Scientists and Analysts to ensure data infrastructure meets advanced analytical needs.
  • Ensure data security, governance, and compliance while promoting best practices in data management.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align data engineering efforts with business goals.
  • Drive efficiency by continuously evaluating and improving data architecture, pipelines, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics for data engineering initiatives and communicate results to senior leadership.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends to innovate and enhance Lennar’s data ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in leading cloud migration projects (Azure to AWS experience preferred).
  • Hands-on expertise in dbt, Airflow, Python, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data lake architectures and cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience supporting data science and analytics teams, with an understanding of AI/GenAI data requirements.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced, results-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for building scalable systems that enable data-driven decision-making.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Regular, in-person attendance at the Lennar office during regular work hours is essential. This is primarily a sedentary office position requiring the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move up to 25 lbs. Occasional travel may be required.
