Your Responsibilities on the Team 

  • Responsible for developing policies, programs, and strategies for allocation of flight crew resources to maximize utilization and meet company needs.
  • Reviews the flight and crew schedules assuring that guidelines are not exceeded.
  • Authorizes scheduling guideline variances only after thorough analysis.
  • Monitors the aviation industry through benchmarking and evaluation of peer departments.
  • Assists with monitoring overall operations to ensure the highest level of aviation safety.
  • Responsible for the personnel management of the aircraft dispatchers and flight attendants, as well as close interaction with the management team of satellite bases.
  • May act in a line pilot's capacity and, when in this capacity, has direct responsibility for the safe, comfortable, timely operation of the aircraft, including supervision of other flight crew members.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, and capital expenses
  • Report deviations between estimated expenditures and actual costs with other teammates and leadership to ensure budget transparency is always maintained
  • Advise on the status and requirements for aircraft and other equipment consistent with the company needs
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with relevant company teammates.
  • Maintain responsibility for the aviation operations, not limited to budgeting and aircraft maintenance
  • Ensure operational excellence and world class service
  • Demonstrate strong general leadership skills and contribute to the overall advancement of the broader enterprise outside of the aviation department
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to enterprise safety management efforts and initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 10 years or more experience in aviation, engineering, or a technical field
  • Master’s degree in aviation, engineering, business, or a technical field preferred
  • Extensive background in flight operations
  • Deep experience required related to strategic aviation operation management. Experience in complying with regulations and policies of the FAA and all aviation entities globally.
  • Previous management experience in a flight department and working with senior executives
  • Excellent people and organizational skills
  • Absence of history of violations of FAA regulations
  • Must be able to travel 25% of time
  • General computer skills required including various MS Office tools
  • Broad knowledge of aviation tax regulations
  • Experience managing aviation operating and capital budgets

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
