The Chief of Staff to the VP of Software Engineering will be a strategic partner and key enabler of the software engineering organization’s success. This role is designed for a highly organized and proactive leader who can drive strategic initiatives, optimize operations, and drive effective communication and organization alignment across the Engineering organization. The Chief of Staff will provide critical support in managing the day-to-day operations, leading special projects, and ensuring the engineering organization functions at its highest efficiency with strong internal alignment as well as alignment to overall Lennar Technology Group strategy and goals.

Your Responsibilities on the Team 

1. Strategic Planning and Execution

  •  Assist the Engineering Leadership in developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives within the engineering organization.

  •  Track progress on strategic priorities and projects, ensuring alignment with Lennar Technology Group's overall goals.

  •  Prepare and present reports on project status, strategic initiatives, and KPIs to the leadership team across Lennar Technology.

2. Operational Excellence

  •  Identify operational inefficiencies and drive process improvements to enhance team productivity.

  •  Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring effective collaboration between engineering, platform, DevOps, QA, and related teams.

  • Ensure reporting and adherence to key organizational KPIs within Engineering.

  •  Manage Execution of Special projects and key initiatives across the Engineering organization and ensure completion with due follow ups.

  •  Partner with the Strategy and Planning Organization at Lennar Technology to ensure streamlined project intake process and effective capacity and resource utilization across Engineering.

  • Work with Engineering Leadership to track and optimize budget  across various technology spend categories.

  • Lead the Release Management Function to ensure that Release Management practices are lean.

  • Build key operational dashboards for Engineering to Track progress on KPIs.

 3. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Drive clear and frequent communication and alignment across the entire Engineering organization including leadership staff meetings, extended team meetings and All Hands meetings. Ensure meeting and communication effectiveness through feedback and analytics.

  • Help draft communications, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external meetings.

  • Organize and lead key meetings, including setting agendas, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Lead and drive maintenance of an Engineering Communication repository with UpToDate information.

4. Leadership Support and Decision-Making

  •  Provide strategic advice and insights to support decision-making.

  •  Conduct research, analyze data, and develop recommendations on various challenges and opportunities.

  •  Act as a sounding board for leadership,  providing feedback on organizational dynamics and team performance.

   5. Project/ Program  Management

  • Lead special projects and initiatives as  necessary from planning through execution and delivery.

  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and deliver the expected value to the organization.

  • Lead a team of Project Managers  to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

  • Lead the Release Management function comprising skilled release managers to make sure release management practices are defined and executed across Lennar Technology.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership, strategy, or project management role within a software engineering or technology environment

Skills Required

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform engineering is a plus.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence and inspire teams, with a track record of driving positive organizational change.
